By using this calculator you consent to our team contacting you. We’ll send you an email with your savings report and one of our solar experts will be in touch to talk about your results.
*Your solar savings results are an estimate only, based on the basic information required in this calculator. Our calculator is based on an average of 25c per/kw unit electricity rate, 4.8 day light hours and 100% consumption of solar production produced with a north orientated system. Results can also vary due to weather patterns and grid losses throughout the year. A more accurate estimate can be provided for your actual situation and farm with a personalised assessment. Also note, in some areas of NZ, a system's size cannot exceed 5KW which will be subject to local network approval.
By adding solar to your farm, you could save…*
CEO – Carbon Emission Offset
A carbon offset is a reduction in emissions of carbon dioxide or greenhouse gases made in order to compensate for or to offset an emission made elsewhere.
IRR – Internal Rate of Return
Is a calculation used to measure the profitability of potential investments. It is used to evaluate the attractiveness of a project or investment. It is a rate and shows the growth rate the project (investment) is expected to generate.
NPV – Net Present Value
Is determined by calculating the costs (negative cash flows) and benefits (positive cash flows) for each period of an investment. After the cash flow for each period is calculated, the present value (PV) of each one is achieved by discounting its future value at a periodic rate of return (the rate of return dictated by the market). NPV is the sum of all the discounted future cash flows. NPV is used as a tool to determine whether a project or investment will result in a net profit or a loss. A positive NPV results in profit, while a negative NPV results in a loss.
